Acceptable use

What you may send through us.

ewent puts mail in the inbox of people who trusted an organizer. These rules exist to keep that trust — and to keep everyone’s mail deliverable.

The principle

Every message sent through ewent must relate to an event the recipient actually registered for. That is the whole rule; the rest is detail.

You may

  • Send prep, logistics, reminders, joining instructions and follow-ups for your own events.
  • Ask for feedback afterwards, and share recordings or materials.
  • Tell registrants about the next occurrence of a series they signed up to.
  • Offer a relevant upgrade for the event they registered for.

You may not

  • Upload a list of people who did not register for your event.
  • Send general marketing, newsletters or third-party offers through the checklist cadence.
  • Share, sell or pass attendee addresses to sponsors, exhibitors or anyone else.
  • Disguise who the sender is, or make unsubscribing difficult.
  • Use ewent for anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or designed to mislead about what an event is.
  • Continue contacting someone after they have opted out.

Attendee protections we will not waive

Every message carries a working unsubscribe, identifies the organizer, and relates only to the event in question. An organizer cannot turn these off — they are what make the mail legitimate in the first place.

Enforcement

Complaint rates and bounce rates are monitored because poor sending harms every other organizer on the platform. Where something is wrong we will normally talk to you first. For clear abuse — purchased lists, deceptive events, ignoring opt-outs — we suspend sending immediately and then talk.

Reporting

If you received something through ewent that breaks these rules, tell us. Reports about attendee mail are treated as urgent.
