What works, and what doesn’t yet.
An event you can’t register for is an event you can’t attend. This is where we are, including the parts that aren’t done.
Target
We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the public site, the attendee checklist and the transactional emails. We are not claiming full conformance — see the gaps below.
What is in place
- Semantic headings and landmarks, with a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Visible keyboard focus, and every interactive control reachable by keyboard alone.
- Body text at or above 4.5:1 contrast against its background; large text above 3:1.
- Form fields with real labels, and errors announced to assistive technology rather than shown only in colour.
prefers-reduced-motionrespected — animation and smooth scrolling switch off.- Text reflows to 320px without horizontal scrolling, and survives 200% zoom.
- Emails send a plain-text alternative alongside the HTML.
Known gaps
- No independent audit has been carried out. Everything above is self-assessed.
- Some longer data tables in the organizer dashboard are not yet fully screen-reader friendly.
- A small number of icon-only controls in the product still need better accessible names.
- Colour contrast in a few decorative gradient areas has not been individually verified.
Report a barrier
If something on ewent stops you doing what you came to do, tell us — it is treated as a bug, not a request. Use the contact form or email [email protected]. Describe what you were trying to do, the page, and the assistive technology you use if relevant. We acknowledge within two working days.
If we can’t fix it quickly
We will tell you the workaround and the timeline rather than going quiet. Where an attendee cannot use the checklist, the organizer can always send the same information directly — no one should lose their place at an event because of our interface.
